Why is creation so important?

It forms a basis for the rest of the Scriptures. Thanks to Genesis, the world makes sense. There we learn why we have sin, death, illness and suffering. We learn why the world isn't the perfect place that we know a good God would have designed.

CREATION REVEALS WHAT GOD IS LIKE AND HOW HE ACTS When we read the Bible, we discover that creation reveals the existence of God. Creation reveals what God is like and how he acts. Creation reveals God's absolute authority over all things and the ownership of all things. Creation gives Jesus (who is the Creator of all things, therefore the owner of all things and the Lord of all things) the authority to forgive sin.

For many, like the Psalmist, creation and God as Creator were part of their worship and praise to God. To have a proper understanding of the Bible and of God, we must understand the importance that God has placed on creation and the reason why he did so. These points are examined in more detail below. On the contrary, none of the alternative creation stories believe in the existence of a good and perfect world at first.

A third reason is that the Bible's creation doctrine is integrally linked to its teaching on salvation. Creation provides evidence of the existence of God to those who have questions about the existence of God and seek answers. But what if someone doesn't accept the biblical record and instead adopts a point of view such as progressive creation? Because all alternative views on origins hold that God used the process of natural selection for a long time to arrive at more advanced forms of life, these other views raise serious questions about God's character. Every time the Bible alludes to the story of Creation in Genesis, the Scriptures describe Creation as a reliable representation of the origins of life.

Therefore, Saturday is not a monument to Creation, but simply a Jewish institution that some unknown but ingenious individual wanted to link to Creation.
